Technical Manager Harbour Tug - Medan

Job description

Adecco Group is a global HR solutions company, currently supporting clients in the Maritime Industry to find a Technical Manager - Harbour to be placed in Medan.

Responsibility :

Lead and oversee the technical management of harbour tug fleet, ensuring vessels are safe, reliable, and cost-efficient.
Plan, monitor, and control maintenance, repairs, docking schedules, and statutory/class surveys.
Monitor vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and machinery reliability to improve operational outcomes.
Ensure compliance with flag state, class society, and maritime safety regulations applicable to tug operations.
Manage and optimize technical budgets, spare parts procurement, and vendor relations.
Provide technical guidance to onboard engineers and crew, ensuring effective implementation of maintenance systems.
Coordinate with shipyards, contractors, and suppliers for repair projects and overhauls.
Develop, review, and implement technical SOPs to enhance safety, reliability, and compliance.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (ATT I or seafaring license is an advantage but not mandatory).
Minimum 6 years of experience in technical management, shipyard operations, or marine/heavy equipment maintenance.
Strong understanding of harbour tug machinery, propulsion systems, and maintenance planning.
Familiar with class/flag regulations and maritime safety standards (experience in tug/OSV/shipyard preferred).
Proven ability in budget management, cost optimization, and vendor/supplier coordination.
Strong leadership and communication skills to manage both crew and shore-based technical teams.
Open for candidates with non-seafarer backgrounds who have relevant marine industry experience.
Willing to travel and visit vessels/shipyards as required.
Placement in Belawan/Medan.
