Saat ini kami membuka Lowongan kerja untuk ditempatkan pada posisi berikut.

Posisi :

Crossing Officer

Main function

Work in collaboration with Principal Crossing Officer in all aspects of pollen collection and storage, crossing, germination, and seedling growth.
Receive training from the Principal Crossing Officer.
Reporting progress to the Principal Crossing Officer and interacting with Breeders.

Conducting research into:

Improving protocols related to breeding (e.g., pollen viability, legitimacy of pollen and progeny, pollen storage and seed germination).
Introduce new appropriate technology automation, recording and database integration.
Processing of commercial and breeding pollen from male inflorescence isolation, pollen harvest, storage, and preparation for use.
Ensuring records of pollen stock for breeding use are accurate and can be quickly accessed and that each pollination can be traced to a pollen ampoule.
Assist in planning, organising, and carrying out of all crossing programmes and practicalities related to breeding programme.
Helping oversee planning and progress of crossing and recording of bunches and seed produced.
Assist in managing stocks of seed in cold storage.
Ensure all relevant equipment is maintained and is in good working order.
Check stocks of all materials required for crossing and breeding.
Assist in managing oil palm breeding nurseries (planting seed, culling and release of field ready seedlings) and maintain up-to-date records of breeding seedlings in the database.
Assist in seed processing for breeding trials and other purposes.
Work with the Database Officer to ensure records of breeding seedlings are accurate and readily accessible.

Requirements

First degree (S1) in Agricultural/Biological.
Previous plant breeding/oil palm experience desirable but not essential.
Fluency in English both speaking and writing.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Able to initiate work, work individually and in a team, lead team-work and work with teams from other departments (e.g., Breeding and Biotechnology).
Willing to travel on duty.
